Hailing from Lafayette, Louisiana, Rex Moroux
(pronounced more-o) writes and performs lush
three-minute stage plays. Originally intent on
writing for the stage, Moroux found songwriting to
be a "beautiful, simple and wonderfully enlightening
form." Moroux`s lyrics and subject matter draw on
the literary tradition of Southern writing. His
sound, a mix of country, rock and pop, has a
theatrical-feel without being bombastic. This is
more of a warm, refreshing breeze, than stifling
humidity. The 28 year old Moroux shows promise as a
musician by bringing an interesting mix of substance
and style to the form.
