Gotta love a power pop band that finishes off their
debut with a cover of AC/DC`s "Dirty Deeds Done
Cheap". Good move (and listen to a clip below)!! The
8th Grade are pure popwer pop band filled with
energy, invective and hooks, so heavily laced with
endlessly captivating grooves, catchy melodies and
infectious riffs, it is an easy mistake to at first
overlook the complex, image-rich, insightful and
often comedic lyrics on this delightful first
release. The band push forth a sonically strong
synthesis of belligerently overactive and intensely
tuneful melodies, funny lyrics, a slight does of
`quirk` and catchy songs. A strong debut, no doubt,
with plenty of purely power pop bursts of harmony,
furious rhythms and a delectable, unpretentious,
fashion-free debut. Very Highly Recommended!
