Yardbirds, The Shambles and Pretty Things, do not
miss the Loons! The Loons are retro pop with garagey
passion that combines the dirtier side of The Dave
Clark Five with the brashness of The Standells with
the Beatle melody of The Knickerbockers to reel it
back in before it gets to messy. If it were not for
the modern production values, one could pass this
band off as a Sundazed records reissue of by-gone
Brit Invasion times. Mike Stax very well may have
been sent to 2005 to resurrect what went wrong in
rock n roll after the 1960s. Stax, you see, is the
editor of the most important fanzine for fans of
60`s rock, Ugly Things. But this is a classic, see?

with the same intensity, dissecting their Pretty
Things/Byrds/Love/Music Machine fixations with
panache, and emerging with sterling songs and
forceful, harmony-rich sound that far surpasses to
