Release Notes:

Let`s get this up front. A classic type of Not Lame
styled power pop and their strongest release yet.
Think a mixture of early Posies material
has("Failure" and "Dear 23"), America, Bread, Cloud
Eleven all wrapped up in a love of Badfinger and
late 60`s/early 70`s Bee Gees and probably some solo
George Harrison if Wings were backing him up.
Translation: It`s a big winner! Led by Stephen
Bunovsky, who was in Hanna Cranna(and has a solo CD
on the site, too), "Sunshine Girl" is a beguilingly
haunting display of smart and sweet harmonies that
while acoustically driven on many of the songs here,
have an overpowering affect. Kudos to Bunovsky
writing an album confident to be hushed and
acoustically strummed where the song demands such
treatment and resist the temptation to blast the pop
hook out front. It`s the graceful, gentle
summer-breezed air of the entire release that makes
it so enjoyable from the first listen and onward.

"Sunshine Girl" is the type of release that we hope
bring the name The Naomi Star into the minds of
indie power pop fans world-wide as it`s deserved of
that status. Listen below and there`s a lot of the
proof right there. This bit was written about their
self-titled debut but it applies here well and we`ll
reuse as it`s illuminating on both releases.
"Melodic songwriting, lots of harmonies and an
electric/acoustic guitar combination make this one
great pop-rock record. At least two tracks seem to
come from some mythical lost Badfinger album. All
this, plus, concise guitar solos, some Beatle-esque
"oooh la las" and lyrics that are straightforward in
a Bee Gees 1970 kind of way"-New Haven Advocate.
