In order to cut the file counts down, I've also included ³ ³ in this release a cheat, and a patch I created that can circumvent ³ ³ the annoying "missing .WAV files" error. ³ ³ ³ ³ For the walkthru, check out the WALKTHRU.TXT file. Special thanks to ³ ³ Acidstorm, Android and Cogline for the help with this one. Couldn't ³ ³ have done it without ya'. By the way, for those that asked, you can ³ ³ only save your game in Alien Earth at specific places (i.e. when you ³ ³ are standing next to a bed). Just USE the bed to save your game. ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ ³ For the cheat, simply copy the ASTATS.INI file into your Alien Earth ³ ³ directory and edit whatever you like in it. In that file, you can ³ ³ control things like how many HP your char starts with, how much damage ³ ³ a weapon does, and how fast your HP and Psi points recharge. Twiddle ³ ³ with settings. Have a ball...I decided to give myself a Halberd of ³ ³ Death that did as much damage as a Bomb. =) ³ ³ ³ ³ For the patch, simply copy the FIXIT.BAT file into your AE directory ³ ³ (note that this patch includes the previous SPEECH FIX that was ³ ³ released, so let this file overwrite the older FIXIT.BAT), then just ³ ³ run FIXIT.BAT. This will essentially make duplicate copies of some ³ ³ WAV files and other data files to eliminate the "Missing file " ³ ³ messages that sometimes pop up. This is not any fault of the "crack" ³ ³ of this game, the game's sound engine is quite unstable, and even ³ ³ playing with the original CD, the game sometimes just crashes for ³ ³ no particular reason.
