Ok ... here's the second disk from AVP that some people were asking about. It is nothing but pure audio so you don't need it to play the game. It does add to the atmosphere of the game though so it's probably worth the D/L. It's been converted to .mp3 format which gets a bit under 10:1 compression. I used 160/44 rather than 128/44 because I *CAN* tell the difference. 160 sounds richer than 128. To burn the CD ... go to www.winamp.com and get the lastest version (if you don't already have it). Install and configure it to use the DiskWrite function. Play each of the tracks (you won't hear anything) and they will be converted to .wav format. Use your disk burn software to burn the tracks. I use DAO because it eliminates the clicks between tracks you can get with a TAO burn. TAO should work though. DO NOT just burn the .mp3s or .wavs using the copy function because digital audio is NOT just a wav or mp3 file. If you do this you will wind up with .wavs or .mp3s on the disk and they won't be read as audio. If you already know how to do this, sorry for being so verbose. I would rather err on the side of providing too MUCH information. The rest of this post is scans of the AVP manuals and selected pages from the lengthy Mech3 books and references. These aren't my rips so if the quality isn't what you like I'm sorry, there's always the purchase option. NBF
