   Extract the included game.dat into your Command and Conquer: Generals 
   directory.

   Turns out the deviance release was not properly cracked (what else is 
   new). 
   
   During play people would have trouble with a continue button missing or 
   their units exploded.
   
   Due to the game being no-cd'd, with 3 conditional jump patches it 
   sometimes broke down.
   
   Here is a proper patch which will fix the whole problem, and also act as 
   no-cd.
