   Based on the  award-winning  space  simulation Independence War, the Deluxe 
   Edition features an all-new Defiance Campaign, where the player fights from 
   the enemy side in 18 new missions.

   The year is 2268 and the Independence War is  reaching a crucial phase. The 
   Commonwealth Navy is laying siege to the Indie stronghold Midway, hoping to 
   starve the planet into submission, while the Independent Fleet commits acts 
   of piracy and terrorism. The conflict is escalating, with no end in sight. 

   Edison Hayes and his crew are propelled headlong into the conflict, fighting 
   the Navy, and using all their courage, wit, and strength to best  their  foe 
   with the fate of mankind hanging in the balance.

   FEATURES: Independence War Deluxe Edition contains the original Independence 
   War game and the Defiance  Campaign package  for  a  total of 60 diverse and 
   sophisticated missions. Key features include: 

  * Players command an 8,520 ton,160 meter Dreadnought-class Corvette spaceship 
  * A crew of new characters test the player's courage from the Indies'  
    perspective in 18 new missions included in the Defiance Campaign

  What was ripped?
  First thing to go was the original game, grab the Hybrid release from '97
  or whenever if you want that.  The new, standalone campaign is what you're
  getting here, and only the movies necessary for enjoyable and complete
  gameplay have been left in this package.

   Install then run IWAR.EXE to play in Software Mode or IWAR.EXE -b -16 to
   play in 640 x 480 3DFX mode or IWAR.EXE -b -16 -800x600 for 800 x 600
   3DFX mode.  If you unpacked manually, do not forget to import the IWAR.REG
   found in the first zip file.
