Game Notes: You play a cocky young racer aiming to make his mark in an illegal racing ring operating around Oxford ( Chucky Doll home ) and London. There are various leagues based on different categories of car. Your race winnings allow you to customise your wheels, or upgrade to a new class. Your major threat is the law, which are out to stop your fun with speed traps, roadblocks and big blokes in BMWs ready to indulge in a little pursuit training. The courses are a mix of town and country driving, with the London City track taking you around famous sights like the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace. The M25 track takes in everyone's favourite big top - the Millenium Dome. There's also a high speed tour of the dreaming spires of Oxford ( Squash Chucky ), and hopefully you'll be able to take out a few druids as you pass Stonehenge on the country road track. Players unfamiliar with London will have to contend with one of the capital's worst attributes - heavy traffic. The M25 is the most congested motorway in the world, after all. Breaking every chapter of the Highway Code will be a necessity for success! The Germanic version of M25 Racer, Autobahn Raser, sold half a million copies, encouraging developers Davilex (a Dutch company) to recreate the same experience for that LIMEY in you! The main event within M25 Racer is a three-league system, whereby entrants must top the table before being promoted. For each league there is a limit placed on the types of car available to race in. The Small Car League (first division) permits a choice ranging from the standard Mini Cooper to the BMW Z3. Likewise, the Jaguar XK8, Aston Martin DB7, TVR and even a Rolls-Royce are available in the Luxury Sports Car League. The final master class division (The GT Race Car League) allows the prime of today's road cars to be hurtled around the busy London streets. These vary from the comparatively tame Porsche 911 to the beasts that are the Lamborghini Diablo and the Mclaren F1. Each car can be purchased and tuned up, by winning prize money. For some unexplained reason, the GMC Delorean (made famous in The Back to the Future series) features as the secret car to unlock in each of the leagues. The other modes within the game are The Sunday Cup and the Time Trial. These allow valuable experience to be gained on each of the circuits, to avoid looking like a Sunday morning driver in the league mode. Completion of the Sunday Cup mode allows the player to race in a police car!
