The Aztec war is near an end. King Montezuma's army has º º been defeated and his kingdom has crumbled. Montezuma hid his treasures º º underneath the Aztec grand temple. A death curse was laid on that ground º º for whoever uncovered it. Montezuma was run out of the land soon after º º that time. Many years have passed, and many people have attempt to uncover º º the treasure, and were never heard from again. º º º º The year is now 1998. You are Max Montezuma, an adventurer and the only º º remaining decendant of the King. Max needs to bring the treasure back to º º him, being the rightful heir. The trouble and danger of the curse will be º º following Max all the way through his journey. Can he achieve what noone º º noone before him has done before? The game claims 50 hours of gameplay, º º compared to just 20 hours for the orginal game back in 83. (Which was º º called Montezuma's Revenge, which we included in this game, just run º º REVENGE.EXE) º º º º Now some of you scene people might be going, "Hey wait a minute, didn't º º Paradigm put that out LAST YEAR?!" Why yes they did, it was entitled º º Montezuma's Revenge, and we did a little homework on it, and came up with º º some stardling facts when we compared the two games: º º 1. PDM version didn't have 3DFX, this does. º º 2. When you start, PDM's version says version 1.13, CLS version says 1.26w º º 3. CLS version has a lot more levels, and all the levels are a lot larger º º in size (which is why this is 52 disks, compared to PDM's release which º º was 28). º º 4. .EXE size is over 200k in difference. º º 5. File dates for PDM was 11-1-97, while just about everything in this º º release had 98 file dates. º º 6. This just went gold (check avault.com) º º What PDM gave you what was like a "special edition" sort of game, like withº º Monster 3D II & Incoming. Of course, CLS brings you goods with the final º º version of this badass game. º ÌÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ͹ º oOo Install Notes oOo º º ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ º º Just unzip, run the install, or unACE manually into any directory. Run º º WMONTE.EXE for the non-3dfx version & GWMONTE.EXE for the 3dfx version. º º Be sure to check out our newest intro by typing CLASS.EXE, and a special º º sneak preview; type PREVIEW.EXE for a look (both included in the ace files)º º NOTE: When you load a level, your A: drive might go a little nuts trying toº º access something. Don't worry about it. If it's irratating, stick a disk inº º the drive. º ÌÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ͹ º oOo Ramblings of a Rufus oOo º º ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ º º º º There are a few things I would like to take some time to address for no º º other real reason than I am tired of the EMail we receive. So many of you º º out there are confused and it is about time someone sets you straight. I º º would like to think I speak for the majority of the other groups out there º º when I say this, but that is for them to decide. First off, we do not º º waste our fucking time uploading to AOL. Everyday there is EMail from º º somegimp@AOL.COM saying that the release we mailed them was in 4 parts º º and one of the disks was missing or it had a CRC error. Get it through º º your thick heads, WE DO NOT MASS MAIL TO YOUR SORRY ASSES. Second, we DO º º NOT sell CDs so stop wasting bandwith and our time with such questions. º º third, the ACE compression is not OUR compression. Just like RAR, someone º º else coded it, we just use it. This brings me to another point, it seems º º that after our releases have trickled down to the average Joe files are º º very often missing. No CLASS.NFO, no FILE_ID.DIZ, various parts of our º º INSTALLATION program, etc. If the INSTALL.EXE does not work for you, this º º means you have to MANUALLY decompress the game. Yes, the horror. Having º º to do something as complicated as UNACE X FILENAME.ACE You can also use º º ACE.EXE instead of UNACE.EXE. If you are still reading this and want to º º know just where you can get ACE.EXE the answer is simple: º º º º http://WWW.GAME-OVER.NET º º º º While you are there you can also read about what has been released and get º º reviews of recent games. This can be extremely helpful if you find º º yourself getting a lot of FAKE RELEASES. If you want to know which are º º REAL and which are NOT you should read a Monthly Game Report like JTF or º º some of the various others. JTF can be found here: º º º º http://www.mygale.org/~jtf98/index.html º º º º Now that I have insulted the millions of AOL customers and educated the º º rest I am going to answer a few questions the average Joe will be asking º º themselves. º º º º Q: Well, if you don't upload to AOL, Offer on IRC, have public FTP sites, º º or have your releases available on the web, how am I supposed to get º º your games? º º º º A: Not our problem. Maybe if you DID something for the scene and º º contributed in some form or fashion you would not be stuck with these º º problems. Nothing in the world is free, if you want something you need º º to get out there and earn it. º º º º Q: Are you accepting couriers? Sites? º º º º A: NO, NO, AND NO. Since day #1 we have not been accepting couriers nor º º do we have any plans on accepting couriers. Stop EMailing us with this º º question. º º º º Q: Do you have a Web Page? º º º º A: Does it look like we have one? If/When we ever do, believe me we will º º advertise it here. º º º º Q: Why are you such an asshole? º º º º A: I am just very talented. Thank you, and see you in the next release. º º º ÌÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ͹ º oOo Wanted Part 2 oOo º º ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ º º º º We have FILLED the Web Master position! º º º º We are also still looking for people to supply our group with HARDWARE. º º 3DFx Cards, Video Cards, HDs, CPUs, RAM, etc. No 800MB drives, 30 pin º º memory, or other pieces of ancient equipment.
