Now the singer/songwriter is set to present some of the Greatest Songs of the '50s, a CD due Jan. 31. "I didn't get (the idea) at first," Manilow says, "because the '60s were more my era, when The Beatles came around. But the '50s had more music than I gave it credit for." Manilow, who is co-producing and co-arranging, selected all chart-topping hits, among them Young at Heart, Beyond the Sea and It's All in the Game. "I tried to stay faithful to the originals, but find myself in them, which was challenging."
