Lament Of An Unborn Child 5:23 Release Notes: A stunner of a set from one of the few groups of their generation who seem to grow and grow more with each new record! Break Reform first caught hit a few years ago, in the big rush of excellent work coming from London at the start of the 21st Century. With this great little record, they've clearly emerged as a force of their own. They are a group that's got a depth and sense of soul that will take them way beyond any simple and easy references to their contemporaries! The lovely Nana Vorperian sings these beautiful lead vocals on the set -- drifting, moody, and spacey -- but never without focus, and always with a lightly tripping style that perfectly matches the album's deeply soulful rhythms by Simon Skolfield and JJ Webster. There's a laidback, lowdown quality to the set that's wonderfully relaxed and very organic -- but it also never falls into any cliches of downtempo, or the kind of easy tricks that always make us shy away from that genre. Great stuff throughout, and a great burst of contemporary soul.
