Release Notes:

Way more than just an anthology of work by legendary congolero Candido -- a
massively overstuffed set that features both of his albums for the Salsoul
label, plus a full bonus disco of remixes! By the end of the 70s, Candido had
made more than his fair share of great records for other labels -- including
some key Latin jazz sides in the 50s, soul instrumental sets at the end of the
60s, and Latin funk killers in the early 70s. But for many, his work for Salsoul
was the material that really brought him to a larger audience -- long, extended
dancefloor groovers that mixed together equal parts Latin, disco, and soul --
and which always provided plenty of space for hard and heavy solo action on
congas! The core albums on the set are great enough -- Candi's Funk and Dancin &
Prancin, both of which are filled with long classics that include "Thousand
Finger Man", "Jingo", "Dancin & Prancin", "Candi's Funk", "Do You Wanna Dance",
"Super City", and "Samba Funk" -- but they're also backed up here by a full
bonus disc of remixes, featuring an additional 9 tracks that include "Jingo
(unreleased instrumental version)", "Jingo Breakdown (Shep Pettibone 12")",
