Room With A View 4:01 Release Notes: Having released two previous single – the electrifying debut 'Hey Bunny' and the Gareth Parton (Go! Team, Ikara Colt) produced double A side follow up 'Club Hoola Hoop's Walls / This Awful Morning' – four parts Norwegian to one part Kentish five piece Cherubs prepare to release their Howard Gray (Van Morrison, The Cure, 80s Matchbox B-Line Disaster) produced debut album. Having originally formed in 2000, Cherubs went through a period of fluid line ups based around a core of Espen, Staale and Jorgen and a series of different guitarists and drummers, before relocating to London and settling on a line up that featured Chatham-born Mat Orchard on guitar and fellow Norwegian-abroad drummer Glenn. The combination of a settled line up, a period of prolific songwriting and the heady excitement of a burgeoning London music scene soon saw Cherubs producing the kind of music that would set tongues wagging. It was the kind of music that would see Cherubs play their debut live gig supporting The Libertines; the kind of music that would see the band sign to the truly independent Cargo Records; the kind of music that would see Cherubs sell over 2000 copies of each of their first two singles, and the kind of music that would see Cherubs touring throughout 2004 with the likes of The Rakes, The Others and The Departure. 'Uncovered By Heartbeat' now sees Cherubs set to step up into the spotlight. Staale's superb lyrical vision (are there many British songwriters who could match the lyrics of 'Botox Bop'?) and deadpan yet totally emotional delivery mix with Espen and Mat's duelling Marr-esque guitar to produce a truly special Norway via Blighty take on a musical blueprint that encompassed the likes of The Cure, Joy Division, Blur and Television.
