The Paris based four piece will release their debut EP for the label on August 14th 2006. THE SUNNY MORNING EP contains four brand new tracks which make absolutely no concession to what is expected of them: Sunny Morning, featuring guest vocals from Greg Weeks (Espers), is a seven minute plus voyage from sleepy-eyed slumber to wide-eyed wonder; Let It Play is a concise three minute belter that bobs and weaves towards its violent conclusion like a champion boxer; Damaged Memories is a bucolic, atmospheric track that highlights the band's accomplished sense of dynamics; Room J13 is a freeform jam full of tension and drama. It's quite an introduction to the French band for the world at large. Though they have released two albums in Europe on the sadly dormant label Gooom (former home to M83), both of which were released by Locust in the US (who have also worked with Espers, Matmos, Allen Ginsberg and Timothy Leary), distribution has been limited. Despite this, they have built up a reputation for fierce live performances, and the forthcoming release of their third album - their first for Ever Records - should see them step out of the darkest recesses of the French underground (and we don't mean Le Metro) into the limelight. Sunny Morning is taken from the album SWEET BELIEFS, which is due for release by EVER RECORDS in September. Recorded at Vogue Studios in Paris - a studio where where legions of French stars of the 60s and 70s, including Françoise Hardy, cut many of their classic albums, but which was until recently lying derelict in the north of the city - it's a collection of noble but gritty beauty, its escapist enchantment anchored by a human frailty and vulnerability. SWEET BELIEFS offers an otherworldly grandeur: psychedelic, noble, fragile, pastoral, experimental and incandescent all at once, the sound of Sonic Youth reared on Pink Floyd's lost masterpiece Soundtrack To 'More', or maybe Low picking Mogwai to pieces.
