The group signed with the Hut Recordings label on Virgin in 1996 and released their debut single, "All You Good Good People" (on the Indie label Fierce Panda) in February 1997. Swiftly followed by the "Fireworks" and "One Big Family" EP's on Hut the band generated huge interest from the music press and were voted Best New Band in end of year NME Readers Poll of that year. The re-release of their debut single through Hut in October '97 brought them wider attention, entering the singles chart at #8. The band received a Brit Award nomination for Best New Band in February 1998 and soon after released the single "Come Back to What You Know" which peaked at #6. In June, their debut album THE GOOD WILL OUT was released to great acclaim and entered at #1 in the album charts before going on the achieve Platinum status. With the addition of Mickey Dale on keyboards, Embrace continued to build on their strong UK fanbase releasing a further two albums DRAWN FROM MEMORY (2000) and IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN (2001) which were followed by the massively successful FIREWORKS: SINGLES 1997 - 2002 collection. Having departed from Hut Recordings they signed to Independiente in Autumn 2002 and released their fourth and most successful album to date in September 2004. OUT OF NOTHING spawned the hits "Gravity" and "Ashes" , saw the band chalk up their second #1 album and went on to achieve double Platinum status. The band also saw their popularity in the live arena explode as fans flocked to see them belt out the classic hits that have now become established anthems. A companion to FIREWORKS, DRY KIDS is an 18 track album that includes the stunning B-sides of singles from both the Hut and Independiente catalogue and is a must-have for their dedicated fans - both old and new.
