I.O.U. My Love 3:28 Release Notes: "Rush" is Jay-Jay Johanson's fifth album. Continuing where he left off with "Antenna", the album is positively infectious - evident that his French-pop influences guide him far more these days than the Portishead worship which made him such a well-known (and respected) figurehead in melancholic downtempo music several years back. Again, Jay-Jay splits the album between morose (yet strangely uptempo) beats and streamlined 80's synthpop melodies, all featuring his trademark soaring vocals. A supremely sublime elixir of pre-"Violator" Depeche Mode mixed in heavily with the hazy blur so common with many triphop groups, "Rush" is a highly addictive album perfect for that post-party drive home with the passed out girl in the passenger seat whose name you can't quite remember but always has the best cocaine. 1985 is back! Start with: "Rush", "Mirror Man"
