I Hate Emo 1:34 Release Notes: Since their formation in 1996, Los Angeles-based LEFT ALONE have come to be known as one of the hardest working bands in the underground punk scene. On August 8th, LEFT ALONE will release their sophomore album, Dead American Radio, nationwide for Hellcat Records. Produced by Elvis Cortez (vocals and guitar), on a modest budget, Dead American Radio is the follow up to 2005’s critically acclaimed debut, Lonely Starts and Broken Hearts. Recorded at Love Juice Labs in Riverside, Dead American Radio captures the rawness of the three chord song with the sonic surprise of a Hammond organ, stand up bass, and pedal steel guitar. Throughout the album, LEFT ALONE delivers sonically charged songs about drunken adventures, and lost loves. Guest appearances from Hellcat label mates add to this stylistically diverse album. Patricia Day (HORRORPOPS) lends her vocal and writing skills to "La Pregunta," and her uncanny ability to slap a stand up bass to "Done Wrong." Tim Armstrong (RANCID) co-wrote the ska tinged "City to City," and sings with Elvis, bringing a raw edge to the ode to touring. Formed by Cortez in Wilmington, a South Bay suburb of Los Angeles, LEFT ALONE has been going strong both in the studio and on the road for ten years. They have three EPs, three splits, two singles, and two full-length albums credited to their name, and have spent two summers on the Vans Warped Tour as the official BBQ band.
