With the addition of Guy on drums they have topped the MTV2 charts, received some great press and had 3 Singles Of The Week on Radio 1. Their influences include Strapping Young Lad, At The Drive In, Mr Bungle, Madness, Queen, Nirvana, Silverchair & Aphex Twin. From the outset Reuben have grown a steady, fiercely loyal fan base through constant touring and various releases. It all started with the limited edition debut EP 'Pilot' which caught the eye of the public and pricked the ears of the press. By the time they released first single 'Scared Of The Police' in March '02 a cult following had formed and with support slots with the likes of Hell Is For Heroes and Mclusky their incendiary live shows became legendary. 'Stux' followed in August, but it was with third single 'Lets Stop Hanging Out' released January '03, that their popularity grew to another level. The band spent most of 2003 writing and recording new material for their debut album, surfacing only to headline a UK tour which culminated at a sold out show at London's Garage venue, and releasing the single 'Stuck In My Throat' on November 3rd. Eight months later and the long awaited debut album 'Racecar Is Racecar Backwards' (a successful metal fusion of Foo Fighters and Faith No More) came out through Xtra Mile Recordings. Over 10,000 sales to date the release of the album sparked off the success that everyone knew was on Reuben’s horizons and spawned the chart-bothering singles 'Freddy Kreuger' and 'Moving To Blackwater' and led to their nomination for a Kerrang! Award for Best British Newcomer. The latter part of 2004 saw the band re-enter the studio to start work on their second album. Not ones to rest on their laurels, the band penned a whole bundle of songs that eventually got whittled down to be the 13 tracks that make up 'Very Fast, Very Dangerous'. Produced by Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro) at Raezor Studios the album sees the band raise the bar once more, creating a record of balls out straight forward rock songs, like new single 'Blamethrower', mixed with delicate experimental, heart-wrenching tracks like 'Boy' and 'Nobody Loves You'. Watch out for the new album, Very Fast, Very Dangerous, coming September 12th!
