Release Notes:

With the Sci-Fi-Hi-Fi collection Soma Recordings are bringing together
visionary producers and DJ’s to present a sonic snapshot of their craft.
The latest edition of Soma’s Sci-Fi-Hi-Fi mix series is coming from Alex
Smoke, who released his debut album “Paradolia” in March, and follows on
from the first two Sci-Fi-Hi-Fi releases by Ewan Pearson and Luciano.
Pearson got the ball rolling with his immaculate selection of electronic
grooves last year and Luciano followed with an eighty minute snapshot of
his legendary live DJ sets.

Alex has mixed this live and in one take using predominantly vinyl with
a few exclusive tracks on CD. The result is a compelling journey through
electronica, dubstep, electro and techno which is commingled with
obscure gems, classic Detroit and some unreleased nuggets from Mr Smoke
himself.

The tracklisting includes mixes from legendary producers like Basic
Channel, Juan Atkins and Robert Hood alongside modern electronic
pioneers, including Claro Intelecto, Thomas Brinkmann and Troy Pierce.

The next Sci-Fi-Hi-Fi experiment will be conducted by Andrew Weatherall.
